“Conspiracy” by Jeanne Lee (Earthforms Records, SEEDS 5 – 1975)

Wow! Really sexy spiritual jazz vocal record with Jeanne Lee, Gunter Hampel, Sam Rivers, Steve McCall & Jack Gregg in the core group, and featuring Perry Robinson, Allan Praskin, Mark Whitecage & Marty Cook. Track “Your Ballad” sounds like a scat version of Asha Puthli’s tracks on Ornette Coleman’s “Science Fiction.” Gorgeous, wandering spiritual scat with tremendous interplay by the group. Jeanne recites some really steamy poetry in places, with a real Sarah Webster Fabio vibe. There’s plenty of “out” going on, if that’s your thing. One track, “Angel Chile” is an a cappella breathing (and laughing!) exercise. Ah, the 70’s…

Condition: Cover = EX (Looks like it just left the shop, but has a very minor ¼-inch edge split on the upper right seam by the opening)/ Record = EX (Likely unplayed before I got it, clean & shiny but pressing is not that good)

Postage for 1-2 LPs within USA: Media Mail = $4.00 or Priority Postage = $7.50, each additional LP add $2.00 (per LP).

Insurance is optional, but any uninsured package is the Buyer’s responsibility (At Your Own Risk) and I cannot refund lost or damaged packages. US Insurance rates are as Follows: 0-$50.00 = $1.30; $50.01 - $100.00 = $2.20; $100.01 - $200.00 = $3.20; $200.01 and Higher = $4.20. Overseas, please inquire.
