Description

Up for auction is an extremely rare Test Pressing of Con Funk Shun 7 from 1981. The disc is in its original white sleeve, straight from Polygram/Mercury Records. The sleeve has a sticker on it bearing the name and address of Stu Fine at Polygram Records in New York. Also included are the original Album Label Copy and Mastering Instructions, an 8 1/2 x 11 internal document generated by Polygram to accompany the test pressing.  I've included a close-up of a small portion of it.

This Test Pressing is EXTREMELY rare.  I have never seen another one for sale.

I am the original owner, and I am a recovering audiophile. I acquired this record when the ex- worked at Polygram in the '80's. This LP is from my personal collection.

I have always taken fastidious care of my records. This record has been played maybe twice, always using a properly-adjusted tonearm and cartridge, and only after dry cleaning carefully with a carbon-fiber brush. Please bid with confidence, knowing that you are going to own a truly rare item in exceptionally good condition. NO RESERVE.

Condition:

Vinyl: Mint. 
Cover:  Maybe Excellent, but not mint. There are some small coffee stains on the back, and the Stu Fine sticker on the front. Minor corner wear. Inside paper sleeve slightly yellowed with age.
Insert:  Very cool Album Label Copy and Mastering Instructions, yellowed with age.  It includes each title on the album, along with the Publisher and Master No. for each track, along with lots more information. It is very rare for this insert to be included.
