Comus - First Utterance LP + Insert Dawn DNLS3019 Rare & Disturbing Prog Folk Masterpiece Excellent Cond I can understand why this album is back in print, I don't get why it sold in such tiny quantities in the first place - it's an incredible record. After hearing it today I've ordered myself a reissue copy. Of course it'd be nice to keep this one but I can't afford it!
The vinyl is in Excellent condition, it's been well looked after and little played. There is one hairline mark on side two but it's inaudible - the whole record plays loud and clear with just a few quiet isolated pops. There are few spindle marks and the vinyl is clean. I will if required clean it with Keith Monks fluid on my Moth record cleaning machine before sending it out - please let me know if you want this done.
The unlaminated gatefold sleeve is also pretty nice. There is some light corner wear and a little feathering but we've all seen much worse. I think EX- is reasonable.
It comes with the insert which is Excellent.
Overall then a really nice copy of a hard to find classic - it's not Mint but few things in life truly are. It has been looked after by "one of us", ie a true vinyl lover.
I'm also selling the second Comus album. My friend, the owner of this and the other records has a copy of the 7" EP that came out around the same time as this but it's currently misplaced. As soon as it turns up it'll be listed here.
Please don't ask me for a Buy It Now price, in order to create a level playing field this is strictly an auction.
Like many of the records I'm selling today this came from the large collection of a busy man now aged 61. Due to the size of his collection many of the LPs were only played once or twice from new - some were never played and they were all properly looked after. His musical taste was towards the avant garde/free end of the jazz spectrum as well as being a fan of prog, psych and experimental music. I will be selling selected records from his collection over the next few years so please add me to your favourites list!
