For auction is The Complete Roulette Live Count Basie LP record set on Mosaic. Numbered 1666 of a limited edition of 7500 this 180 gram HQ 12 LP showcases some of the best Basie on record. The records are near mint. The booklet has some areas of white discoloration on the cover. The box itself fell during an attempt to photograph it for this auction. It split along the bottom seam and became unhinged. Mosaic boxes are not known for their superior construction. I found something called gaffers tape which is a very strong cloth tape that looks nearly identical to the weak paper tape that Mosaic uses on their boxes. As you can see from the photos the tape covers the split nicely but there is some dimpling where the split was. This could probably be eliminated with some effort.
I did not use the tape to fix the hinge since it cosmetically looks fine and is functional but it could easily be done with the gaffers tape. The seam on one of the corners split slightly and I put some tape inside the box to stabilize that. The photos should give the buyer a good idea. Do not let these things deter you from bidding since this Basie is hard to find and is my favorite Basie ever! Keep in mind that the records are in great shape.
