Description
Black label with silver text, deep groove, mono. Leader, Chet Baker, trumpet on all 12 tracks. 7 tracks also includes Russ Freeman, piano; Carson Smith, bass; Larry Bunker, drums (on 6 tracks), Bob Neel, drums (on 1 track). 3 tracks also include Bud Shank, baritone sax; Bob Brookmeyer, valve trombone; Freeman, piano; Carson Smith, bass; Shelly Manne, drums. 2 tracks also include Jack Montrose, tenor sax; Herb Geller, tenor sax; Bob Gordon, baritone sax; Freeman, piano; Joe Mondragon, bass; Manne, drums. Recorded in 1953 and 1954. Photos on the back cover by William Claxton (see scan).
Cover: VG+ 4" split on the top edge at the insert edge. Very light overall aging.
Record: Mint(-) Visually shows no wear. No markings on the vinyl surface. Played only a very few times with care. Side 1, Track 1 and Track 2, 2 faint clicks on each Track. Track 5, faint groove noise on 1 or 2 isolated revolutions, barely audible and 2 faint clicks, also, barely audible. Side 2, Track 2, faint groove noise the firs 1 or 2 revolutions, barely audible. Track 4, 1 click at the end of the Track. Track 5, 2 or 3 light clicks near the end of the Track. The noise described is slight and most likely in the pressing. The overall quality is excellent. Audibly checked.
