Description
Charlie Parker - Private Acetate Disc
This is a from a set of 78-rpm acetate discs of Charlie Parker radio broadcasts and private performances, all cut on 12" red laminated aluminum National Hollywood recording discs. Estimated that they were prepared between 1950-55. From the information I received when I obtained this set, these discs were the property of one of Bird's musical contemporaries, possibly someone he knew.
This one is "White Christmas" and "Oo Bop Sh'Bam".
"White Christmas" was recorded Dec. 25, 1948 at the Royal Roost (NYC).
"Oo Bop Sh'Bam" was recorded January 22, 1949 at the Royal Roost.
Both sides play well. You have to take care with this disc, as the red lamination has come off some of the other discs.
I will store the disc in a generic record sleeve for your convenience.
