Description
Uncredited RGM/Joe Meek Production !!!
The very first session Geoff Goddard played on in the famous converted bed-sit flat in 1961. A fast number this, backed all the way through by heavy piano and thudding drums, with no break at all. Very commercial sound for 1961 – could well have been a hit had it received the air-play (O.K., so you can say that about hundreds of records). Label doesn’t state R.G.M. – in fact it states ‘An Iver Recording’, but it was definitely cut at the R.G.M. Studios with Joe Meek in command! Co-penned with B. White alias Bob Kingston.
Flip is worth a mention too. Geoff opens the disc with ‘minuet-style’ piano playing before Carter-Lewis take up the sad lyrics in great harmony with tinkling minuet piano break halfway and with just enough echo to distinguish the R.G.M. sound..
