-Carl Perkins was born on April 9, 1932 in Tiptonville, Tennessee. He died of a stroke on Jan. 1, 1998 ( age 65 ). Rockabilly/singer/songwriter/guitarist. Many of the world's greatest musicians have recorded Carl's songs including the Beatles who covered " Matchbox " in 1964. Carl was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.

-Carl Perkin's " Dance Album ", Sun 1225 is a terrific rockabilly / country album with all of his earliest rockabilly recordings from 1955-1957.

-Most rockabilly fans in 1957 were not into buying albums, their records were either 45's or 78's. The few albums that did sell were usually well played and enjoyed by their owners. A very scarce and desirable rockabilly record.

-Visual grade: G- to G+. If you require a visual grade of VG- or better, then please don't bid, this record is not for you.

-Play grade: G+ to VG; Blue Suede Shoes skips twice at the very begining of the record on our Hitachi 353 tracking at 1.5 grams. It does not skip using our Dual 1019, tracking at 2.75 grams. All of the other songs play through fine on our Hitachi 353 at 1.5 grams. Considering the number of surface scratches and some deeper scratches, the record plays through with excellent fidelity. The surface noise isn't too distracting as the music is louder than the noise on most of the album.

Jacket: VG-; front cover has good gloss, there is tape residue on all three sides. Bright vivid colours. The back is white and quite clean. Seams are completely split on the top and left sides, with about a 2/12" split on the bottom.  Overall, the cover is in fair collector's condition and would benefit from professional restoration of the split seams.
