Description
For Captain Beefheart fanatics! This is a test pressing of "The Spotlight Kid" which was apparently sent to Columbia Record Productions. It has Beefheart written in the upper left hand corner and three names on the cover Stan - Dave - Jody or Judy. Next to Stan's name are his initials. On the record label it says Beefheart and there is a 1 above that. It also says Test Pressing on the label. There is nothing written on the flip side of the record. I have listened to it twice and here are the details. On the label side where Beefheart is written this is actually side 2 of the record which was issued starting with "Spotlight Kid". All the songs on both sides of the record are in the original order which came out. On the song "Spotlight Kid" there is some surface noise. I didn't notice any other noise except a pop on "Grow Fins". On the other side there is some surface noise on "I'm Gonna Booglarize You Baby", some clicks on "White Jam" and some surface noise on "When It Blows It Stacks". I didn't find the record unlistenable but that is just me. I did not hear any skips. The cover is white but somewhat soiled and faded. It also has some wear on each corner corner with a small split on the upper right hand corner. The sound of the record was good and dynamic like the album when it came out in 1972 on Warner Bros Records Inc. Also someone has written 2050 on the upper right hand corner of the record in blue ink? Record will be securely wrapped and packaged. There numbers listed are Matrix as MS--2050 A 31324 - 1A and MS =2050 - B 31325-1B
