Description
Disguised as the Golden Gate Orchestra, the California Ramblers Orchestra play two fox trots, "Adorable" and "How Many Times," on Edison Diamond Disc 51822. "Times" is a lively side with fine alto sax, trumpet and trombone solos.
Chelsea Quealey, Roy Johnston (tp) ; George Troup (tb); Bobby Davis (cl,sop,as); Sam Ruby (ts); Jimmy Puglese (bassax); Jack Russin (p); Tommy Felline (bj); Arthur Campbell (tu); Herb Weil (d); John Ryan (vcl); Ed Kirkeby (dir). Recorded in New York on August 12, 1926.
This record is in E condition except for a small dig on the "How Many Times" side that hangs up on my modern equipment (see last photo). I don't know how it will behave on an Edison phonograph. Except for the dig, the music is loud and clear over quiet surfaces. Please note that this record is vertically recorded and therefore requires special playback equipment.
I'm a longtime collector who is downsizing. I know how to pack records.
