To my ears, Creedence never really matched this majestic work, although they went on to record many other, more commercially successful albums: their first album, recorded in late 1967 and released in early 1968, is a masterpiece of tight group sound, which , at turns, can be rocking, fuzzy, psychedelic, rhythm-and-bluesy or simply bluesy. Their heavy-psych version of "I put a spell on you" not only burried forever Screamin' Jay Hawkins' voodoo original, but also Van Morrison's pseudo-blues rendition or Nina Simone folksy, soulful version or , for that matter, any other version in existence. Five minutes of perfection, from start to finish. Almost 35 years after the album came out, that guitar solo still sends shivers down my spine. And then, there is the monster 9-minute version of "Suzie-Q", probably the only extended-jam song from the sixties that does not leave me terminally bored for a second. Incredible album, in a condition that will NEVER be beat: STILL SEALED!, AND WE ARE OFFERING HERE THE MEGA-RARE FIRST VERSION OF THE COVER WITHOUT THE RED “BLOTCH” PLUGGING THE HIT SINGLE “SUZIE-Q” ; Finding a still sealed original WHITE LABEL PROMO copy of this Rock milestone?!?! Forget it – not even a HOPE!!! This may be the last one you will ever see.

THE WHITE LABEL PROMO, RADIO STATION-, AUDITION OR DEMONSTRATION COPIES AND RELEASES (such as the one we have here) were often distributed to the radio stations before the record was released to the public, sometimes as much as four months ahead. (b)          The record is  apparently pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(c)           White Promo Label version of this title is much rarer that a regular, commercially released, version of this title. We estimate that stock copies of this album outnumber promo copies by a ratio of at least 400:1.

(d)          Mono copies of this album are NOT known to exist.

(e)           Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!
