Description

For sale - from my personal collection - the following LP by legendary jazz musician COUNT BASIE (1904-1984) and HIS ORCHESTRA, titled:

"CLASSICS"

original 1955 pressing on Columbia Records CL 754, MONO, made in USA. Plastic inner sleeve. 6-black eye Columbia label.

CONDITION:

- front cover is between Exc. to NM (having some overall fading and scuffing over the laminated folio; some small portions of folio peeling off by the opening edge)

- back cover is close to NM (small round sticker affixed near the upper right corner)

- vinyl is NM both sides-possibly MINT (visual grading)

Featuring Count Basie (piano, leader) with his orchestra - musicians alternating on tracks. Among them a few jazz legends such as Freddy Green (guitar), Jo Jones (drums), Buddy Tate and Ilinois Jacquet (saxophone).

Special guest star JIMMY RUSHING (vocals) on 5 tracks.

12 tracks, studio recordings. Includes "Jimmy's blues", "Going' to Chicago blues", "Rusty dusty blues" and "You can't run around". Very interesting and special classic jazz based on swing-blues mix rendition. Top condition copy. A collector's item, highly recommended!
