THE BIRTH OF TOGETHER THE FRENCH MODERN RADIO AND CONCRETE MUSIC, UNDER THE DIRECTION OF PIERRE SCHAEFFER. FIRST PUBLISHING OF 2 HISTORICAL MODERN WORKS, HENRY & SCHAEFFER’S « BIDULE EN UT » and « L’OISEAU RAI », which will be included few years later (1957) in the « Panorama de la Musique Concrète » 1 & 2.
Very important historical anthology including radioplays, concrete music (musique concrète), speech excerpts and all radiophonic essays produced & recorded 1942-52 at the Studio d'essai de la Radio Télévision Française, for the French national broadcasting company, formerly RTF, later known as ORTF.
THE DIRECTOR OF ALL THESE EXPERIENCES IS PIERRE SCHAEFFER,
THE DISCOVERER OF CONCRETE MUSIC, AND ONE OF THE GREAT THEORICIANS OF MODERN CREATION.
HE WAS AMONG THE VERY FEW WHO INITIATE THE MODERN RADIO TOGETHER WITH ELECTRO-ACOUSTICS, DURING WAR TIME, AND IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DISSOCIATE HIS MUSICAL CREATION OF HIS RADIO WORK, OR OF HIS THEORY.
The material here is mostly speech (as theatre, poetry, litterature), also experimental radioplay, events, sounding documents, sound effects, voices effects, and some of the preceeding combinated. It features the greatest of all :
