Description

Very, very nice picture discs (2) from Vogue, "Study in Blue".  It contains music by Irving Berlin (Blue Skies) and George Gershwin (Rhapsody in Blue), performed by the All-Girl Orchestra "The Hour of Charm".  These records are collected as much for their beauty as for the music they contain.  There are unique pictures on each side of both discs, and they are in very, very nice condition.  Cardboard jacket is also in wonderful condition, with only a small stain.  Produced in 1946 or 1947.

Vogue picture records are phonograph records on the "Vogue" label which have a picture (an artist's illustration) embedded in the transparent vinyl of the record. The illustrations on each side of the record are usually related to the title of the song on that side.

Vogue picture records were produced by Sav-Way Industries of Detroit, Michigan. The first 10-inch Vogue picture record (catalog number R707) was released to the public in May 1946. Production ceased less than a year later in April 1947, with Sav-Way entering into receivership in August 1947. During this time, approximately seventy-four different 10-inch Vogue picture records were released.
