Cold Sun Dark shadows (Rockadelic RRLP 2.5, US 1989)

"Band aus Texas mit Songs von Ende der 60er Jahre. Die LP ist im Orignal nie erschienen. Laut Cover eine "Same", laut Beiblatt "Cold sun". Alle Songs sind von Bill Miller geschrieben. Dreamy, floating psychedelia, mit hypnotischer Wirkung (als ob die Musik kreist und atmet), rhythmisch abwechslungsreich, oft ziemlich ruhig und sehr eigener Stil: eigentümliche Melodie- und Rhythmuswechsel dominieren neben dem sanft-dämonischen Gesang den Gruppenstil (unmöglich nachzupfeifen oder zu summen). Toll! Hat so was von Jahrmarktmusik, erinnert dabei teilweise an die United States of America, ist aber deutlich melodischer und besser, teilweise auch an 9.30 Fly und Ill Wind mit leichten Doors-Einflüssen. Ab und an schwingt sich die Gitarre zu einem genialen, kleinen Fuzz-Solo auf, aber immer alles sehr dezent. Vor allem der "electric autoharp"-spielende Bill Miller (die "autoharp" ist so ähnlich wie eine Zither, die man beidhändig auf der Brust spielt) ist mindestens Weltklasse, auch als Sänger. Einer der Höhepunkte ist das völlig weggedrehte Fuzz-Rückkopplungssolo im zweiten Song, das unter Garantie Hirnschraubenformat hat!"

"Hailed by many as one of the top psych LP's from the Lone Star State and this pressing of 300 copies is the only way it's available to date. Fronted by Bill Miller on electric autoharp, later of Roky Erickson's Aliens, this LP was recorded at Sonobeat Studios in Austin. Cuts include "Ra.Ma", "Here In The Year", "Twisted Flower", "South Texas", "Fall", "For Ever", and "See What You Cause". Cover and Vinyl are Mint- and it has the 5"x7" color photo of the band playing live at Austin's Palmer Auditorium in 1970."

"Unreleased material by this Austin, Texas band that was recorded in 1969 at Sonobeat Studios which was famous for recording Mariani (Eric Johnson) and Johnny Winter’s first LP.  In the 13th Floor Elevator style led by Bill Miller on electric autoharp. Bill later became a main member of Roky Erickson’s Aliens band. Songs are very psychedelic and drug induced with cuts like "Ra-Ma", "South Texas", "Twisted Flower", "Here In The Year" plus more."

Damn rare and one of the three Rockadelic issues to die for! Record plays mostly M but shows some hairlines so M-. The cover is perfect Mint. With both inserts (color photo, infosheet) and paste-on-cover artwork. Perfect keeper copy!

M = Mint, Neu / New; Platte ungespielt / record unplayed; Cover ohne Gebrauchsspuren; cover without marks.
M- = Platte wenig gespielt / record played a few times; nur geringste Gebrauchsspuren/Haarkratzer / only slightest marks/hairlines.
VG+ = wenige geringfügige, feine Kratzer, die man kaum hört, geringfügige Coverabnutzung / only some slight surface marks aka hairlines or slight cover/ring wear.
VG = sichtbare Kratzer, die je nach Musik und Lautstärke stellenweise hörbar knistern / played a lot, has visible surface marks, noticeable surface noise here and there, cover has some ringwear or cover tear or cover wear.
