Description
This is a tremendous prog psych LP from a Scottish band called The Clouds entitled 'Scrapbook'. It is their first album from the year 1969 and is a wonderful prog/psych album with top quality musicianship. This LP was released originally on the UK 'orange and black eye' Island label. This is an original UK stereo pressing with the same logo. The catalogue no. is ILPS 9100.
OUTER SLEEVE - The gatefold sleeve is an original which is textured on the outside only and is in overall pretty good condition. There is some definite wear and ring wear on the front and rear sleeves and there is minor 'feathering' on both front edges of the sleeve. It states on the `inner portion of the gatefold sleeve - 'All titles written by Clouds and published by Chrysalis Music - Orchestrations written and conducted by David Palmer - Cover design by John Williams - Photographs by Brian Ward - Engineered by Andy Johns at Morgan Studios, London - Produced by Terry Ellis for Chrysalis Productions'. The top and bottom edges show definite wear. The spine shows some wear and some scuffing at either end while the wording along the spine is very difficult to read. I've graded the sleeve as VG-.
INNER SLEEVE - This is a plain paper type without plastic liner.
RECORD - The record itself looks quite clean but there are some surface marks and there is some surface noise with some pops and clicks on both sides. There are no jumps or skips on any of the tracks. The labels are in fine condition and there are only minor spindle marks. There is no damage to the labels on either side. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are as follows - side one - ILPS 9100 + A - side two - ILPS + 9100 + B. I believe this makes the record a first pressing. I have graded the record as Ex-- and I believe that this is very fair. I try to grade everything as accurately as possible. The winner of this auction will not be disappointed.
