CLIFF RICHARD with THE SHADOWS
"IT WILL BE ME" (sic)
ONE SIDED 10" EMIDISC ACETATE
1962 Mono release
It was the first single of Cliff's to have The Shadows minus Jet Harris and Tony Meehan but plus Brian
Bennett and Brian 'Licorice' Locking.
Composed by American Jack Clements for Jerry Lee Lewis, his version was released in the US on the Sun label
and subsequently in the UK on the London American label which is where Cliff and The Shadows first heard it.
The acetate has XLV (45 rpm) CLIFF RICHARD IT WILL BE ME (sic) hand written in faded pink crayon across the blank label area.
In true English fashion EMI wrote "It Will Be Me" on the acetate and not the 'Americanised' "It'll Be Me" which is how the composer titled it
and how it appeared on the eventual Cliff and The Shadows release.
Although surface looks poor the audio condition is excellent.
