Description
Harold"chuck" willis from atlanta georgia, was an r&b rock'n'roll singer of the 50's known as the king of stroll. He recorded for atlantic records and had success with the fabulous its too late ( covered by roy orbison/buddy holly and others). His most successful recording was the fabulous cc.rider originally by ma rainey. Again many people recorded this track laverne baker/charlie rich and elvis amongst others. Many believe this song was the influence of the stroll craze. During 1958 after suffering with stomach ulcers for many years chuck died in hospital during surgery, of peritonitis. He had just finished recording the fabulous what am i living for/ hang up my rock'n'roll shoes, another fab stroller played at many rock'n'roll clubs today. What am i living for became a million seller earning a gold disc and becoming the top r&b disc of 1958. In his short career he left us with some fabulous songs. And this EP is no exception 4 fabulous tracks each one a gem. Side 1: I feel so bad ( covered by elvis on his Elvis is back lp)/lawdy miss mary. Side2: dont deceive me/ caledonia. Disc is vg there is crackle at run in and between tracks with a few light pops, there are hairline marks on the vinyl/ this does not affect the playing of this ep/ there are no jumps/ no sticking and no major defects plays very well . Sleeve is also vg ,has corner wear and very slight split at bottom corner/with some creasing/ flip back and spine are intact and there are no splits some discolouration on back cover.
