American experimental composer Christian Wolff is considered a member of the “New York School” having associated with Cage, Feldman & Brown. His work is often about duration & composition as material for performance. He has said “ compostion must make possible the freedom & dignity of the performers. It should have in it a persistent capacity to surprise (even the performers themselves and the composer). It should allow both concentration (precision in detail) and release. No sound noise, interval etc., as such is preferable to any other sound, including the sounds always around us, provided that a) one is free to move away from them or towards them, and b) sounds are not used to bulldoze, dredge, or compel feelings deliberately. The listeners must be as free as the players.” David Tudor, Gordon Mumma, John Nash, Frederic Rzewski & Christian Wollf perform. “Burdocks” is one of Wolff’s major works. Hard to find Wergo by this interesting composer and not to be missed!

Record is in NEAR MINT+ condition (appears unplayed) and jacket is NM-.
