Description
Rare, one-sided vinyl record and poster (not shown in photo) by US experimentalist and subverter of audio technology. In 1989, a Zurich art gallery covered a floor with copies of the record, which contains recordings of footsteps and tap-dancing. Visitors had to walk over the unprotected vinyl records, leaving dirt and scratches on them, to reach other parts of the exhibition. One thousand of the records were taken up and boxed. On this copy, you can see the double-sided tape used to attach the record to the floor, as well as dust, scratches and indentations. The record is packed in a box with an insert and a large colour photo poster (about 90 x 60 cm) showing the exhibition room where the records were displayed. This is the only copy I have ever seen.
