The sole LP issued on Motown's short-lived Weed imprint, CC Rides Again is an utterly misguided attempt to recast blue-eyed soul sister Chris Clark as a freak-flag-flying, flower-power femme. It's a shame the resulting LP is so completely square, undermining Clark's impassioned, soulful vocals with trite covers and tepid, soft-focus arrangements. The project's failure rests squarely on the shoulders of producer Deke Richards, who not only saddles Clark with ill-fitting material like "Good Morning Starshine" and "Spinning Wheel" but further burdens the singer with absurdly pretentious flourishes including orchestral themes from then-current films like 2001: A Space Odyssey and Romeo and Juliet. Only the deeply soulful opener, "CC Rider," hints at what might have been. Had the stars aligned differently, CC Rides Again could have launched Clark to the same creative stratum occupied by Dusty Springfield's classic Dusty in Memphis, but instead the record proved the final nail in the coffin of a career that deserved far better. ~Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide

Overall our records are in very nice to excellent condition with play wear and some have scuff marks. NOT PLAY TESTED, SO YOU BUY AS IS. Some may need to be cleaned and may play with some scattered light background as found on most used records. Others are in excellent in condition. Most of the jackets have some edge and surface wear. We are selling the contents of a used record store that closed its doors in 1982. The records were stored well, but some were stacked and show minor scuffing that does not appear to affect the sound. We have 78's, singles, EPs and LPs from 1920's-1980, including rock, pop, country, jazz, and classical music, and a small number of original cast recordings and soundtracks. It will take a while, but eventually our whole inventory will be listed. All our records are in very good to excellent condition, with any exceptions noted in the listing.
