FOR AUCTION: CHELSEA "CHELSEA" DECCA DL 75262
RELEASED IN 1970
Peter Criss is best known as the catman drummer of the hard rock/heavy metal band Kiss. Prior to joining Kiss, Peter played drums in several bands. The most famous of Peter's pre-Kiss bands was a folk rock band called Chelsea. Chelseasigned a record deal with Decca Records, and released a self-titled album in 1970, but the album bombed, and Chelsea disbanded soon after that. Peter then formed a band called Lips with Chelsea bandmates Stan Penridge and Michael Benvenga, but the band was never able to get a record deal, and soon disbanded. Desperate to find a successful band, Peter posted an ad in Rolling Stone Magazine, stating, "Drummer...willing to do anything to make it." He soon received a call from Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, two musicians who were looking to form a powerful new band after walking away from their previous band, Wicked Lester. After seeing Peter perform at a club in Brooklyn, Gene and Paul hired him on the spot, and the rest is history.

RECORD GRADING POLICY
MINT = like new or near new with only one or two small insignificant defects, a 9 or better on a 1-10 scale
EXCELLENT = Would be Near Mint, except for a couple of light hairlines or scuffs, which do not affect play
VG++ = still a very nice record with all or nearly all of its original gloss but may have a few more light, surface marks, hairlines, needle tracks or the like which should not materially affect play
VG+ = a nice, but used record that may have a series of light scuffs or scratches. It probably plays with a few pops, but has no serious problems.
VG = a well-used record that still should sound OK when played, but may have moderate surface noise, pops, etc.
VG- = a very well-worn record that plays through without skipping, but will do until a better copy comes along.
Good = not actually good at all but probably will play through but with much in the way of surface noise, pops, crackles, etc. Still, will have no cracks, chips or the like
Fair = you are getting this record just to own but not to play
Poor = the sky's the limit, generally I will discard a record this bad (and sell the cover, jacket or sleeve alone) unless the label holds some particular interest

PLEASE NOTE: We have set our shipping prices to cover costs on an average basis. You may be charged slightly more - or less - than the actual cost of postage; Priority postage varies according to destination, records and jackets vary in weight, all of which makes it impossible to set an exact "correct" price for all customers, especially internationally. We ship all LP's in new (unused) custom LP mailers. We pack records with filler pads, placing the disc in an inner sleeve outside the cover to prevent seam splitting in transit. Part of our postage fee covers the cost of the mailer and pads (which currently costs us up to a dollar per).
