CHARLIE PARKER RARE ORIGINAL DIAL ‘UNRELEASED MASTERS’
This is an American pressing from 1950 on thick vinyl. The Dial label was a store- based label begun by Ross Russell. Parker played on 7 of the 16 sessions on Dial. The personnel on these recordings include Miles Davis on trumpet, J.J. Johnson on trombone, Duke Jordan on piano, Tony Potter on bas and Max Roach on drums.
The gold lettering on the cover has faded a little but the corners hold up pretty well for a fifty year plus old record- there is a small loss of color on them. On the reverse side of the cover the initials ‘R.C.S’ have been stamped twice and are about ½ inch high. Somebody has written the initials ‘JP 27’ above them in about the same size. The vinyl has some light marks but I’ve played it through many times and they are not a problem. There is a guaranteed return policy if you decide otherwise. There is a slight ‘cut’ running through one side of the label. This is a factory fault and is common on small jazz labels.
Tracks are unusual and include Nowhere, Bird of Paradise, Drifting on a Reed, Klackto, Scrapple,Dexterity,The Hymn, Nowhere, How Deep, Quasimodo, Bird of Paradise, Embracable and Charlie’s Wig.
This is the chance to own a magnificent piece of jazz history. Parker’s improvisations here are absolutely magnificent. Bird lives!

MINT: Brand new condition, no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Cover, label, extras in perfect condition.
VERY GOOD: played quite a few times, no real deterioration in sound quality. Cover, label, extras slight amount of wear and tear.
GOOD: showing some wear and tear. Reasonable, playable sound. No major defects in record, cover, label, extras.
FAIR: Sound quality deteriorated. Cover, label, extras display folding, scuffing, marks. .
