Artist: Charlie Parker
Title: “Charlie Parker Memorial, Vol. 1”
Label: SAVOY, Catalog number is MG 12000. Monaural pressing, label is red with silver text. Pressed on medium thick vinyl with deep groove. yellow “Bergenfield, N.J.” label with deep groove on medium thick vinyl. Matrix number is machine stamped, and small “RVG” is hand etched in the runout area.
Year: 1955
Personnel: Charlie Parker – alto sax; Miles Davis – trumpet; Duke Jordan or John Lewis or Bud Powell – piano; Tommy Potter or Curley Russell – bass; Max Roach – drums.
Condition:
DISC: Nice VG+ with most of the original gloss remaining. Has minor scuffs/hairlines, but no serious marks. Plays with good fidelity as you can hear in the accompanying sound clip. A very nice “playing copy.” Labels are clean.
JACKET: Nice VG+ with bright artwork. Reverse shows some soiling and darkening with age. Displays some obvious wear at corners and a bit of chipping at spine. d clean white reverse. There is a 2-inch seam split at bottom center. No writing or stickers.
