Straight from the lost land of Flatbush, Brooklyn comes a hip-hop crew that without doubt set a precedent in hip-hop's underground.  Expanding upon the influences of such crews as the Hit Squad, Juice Crew, and Native Tongues, the Cella Dwellas have come to represent another level in hip-hop.  The duo, consisting of emcees UG and Phantasm, admits that they came together basically by coincidence.  One night while testing some freestyles at New York's highly acclaimed Lyricist Lounge, the two former acquaintances brought the house down.  Amazed by their on the spot ability, spectators thought they had been performing together for years.  The underground reaction was enough to convince the two to become a team.  Their debut album, Realms 'N' Reality, constantly plays on words, alluding to science, history, old cartoons, television heroes, famous movie punch lines and Dungeons and Dragons.  Fortified with beefy tracks produced by their own DJ Megahurtz, Nick Wiz, the Bluez Brothas and the Dwellas themselves, the album's diversity keeps the average hip hop listener's attention from the first song to the last.  Mystical, hypnotic songs like "Land Of The Lost" and "Realm 3" are Dwellas trademarks, while tunes like "We Got It Hemmed" and "Wussdaplan" are underground classics, guaranteed to leave a dent in the party scene from coast to coast.  However, their mystical aura and knack for making the perfect party tune are mere fragments of the conceptual material that's included on the Realms 'N Reality release.  Selections such as "Perfect Match," "Advance To Boardwalk," and "Good Dwellas" fulfilled the destiny that put the Cella Dwellas amongst hip-hop's elite storytellers.  "There are three main realms you must deal with when making a song," says UG, "Proper tracks, style, and metaphoric creativity. Lyrically as individuals we represent three different realms. I represent the realm of mystics, Phan represents real hypnotics, and More (longtime friend and protege) represents the robotics realm."  A tight vernacular and polished stage routine have earned the group respect amongst peers like Q-Tip (A Tribe Called Quest), Busta Rhymes (Leaders Of The New School), and rap veteran Masta Ace, who features the Dwellas on his past album.  Though presently focused on higher realms, both UG and Phantasm are former menaces to society who are no strangers to the realities of street life.  They are examples of urban youth who put their energy into something positive and creative rather than the all too easy negative.  Reaching for the higher realms in an all too real society, the Cella Dwellas conquer the hip-hop world on a fantastic voyage through Realms 'N Reality!!!  Definitely a must-have for any true DJ or hip-hop fan out there... so grab it now!!!
