Description

This is thought to be the 2nd rarest Vertigo LP ! It's a very nice copy, only let down by wear to the spine, hopefully the photo's show this. The rest of the sleeve really is in good condition for it's age, (1972). There is the feintest hint of a sticker mark, (top right corner), but you'd hardly know it was there, a cursary glance and you'd not see it. Apart from the upper part of the spine as mentioned, the sleeve is in very nice condition. No writing at all ! A hint of ring wear on the back, (top & bottom only). As stated, this is a white label test pressing, so we don't have that glorious spiral to behold, but just how many test pressing's were produced.......it must be rarer than the stock copy. The label is mint both sides. The catalogue number is clearly stamped in the runout, followed by a 1 or 2 and the numbers 420 at the end. There is just a plain white inner sleeve, with the group name and catalogue number written on, (in two different hands). The record really needs a good clean, as there are a some pops and clicks. These can mainly be heard in the quieter parts. There are no scratches. The recent Vertigo Record Collector guide didn't do the musical content justice. It has some beautiful guitar and sax solo's. It really is an excellent LP !! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS COPY. Will sit nicely alongside your standard issue too.
