Carpets [Conservatives]

Kill Hirb Cane EP

(Vectoplex RF-828)

1979 San Francisco, CA

"Kill Hirb Cane" is a killer twisted crunching guitar track comped on "Killed By Death" #19. This has got to be one of the hardest to find California punk 45s out there. The band later changed their name from the Carpets to the Conservatives and repackaged this EP with a picture sleeve (equally hard to find), and offered up a couple of tracks on the "Hell Comes To Your House" LP. This original Carpets version was never issued in a picture sleeve, only a plain white innersleeve inscribed by the band. Each member hand-wrote batches of sleeves, resulting in a few different unique styles. The blank white labels were rubberstamped "Hit" and "Flip" and some had additional writing such as song titles, or in this case, the copyright date. I believe this rarity appeared on ebay only once, and it was a considerably lesser-condition copy which sold for over $300.

Condition (sleeve/vinyl): EX/M-
Sleeve is in great shape with only minor creasing at the bottom two corners. Vinyl has two light fingerprint marks, otherwise shiny and most likely unplayed.

Grading Scale: M (MINT) is reserved for unplayed, flawless stock copies. M- (MINT MINUS) is the highest grade for a record in beautiful shape. EX (EXCELLENT) means there's a minor flaw on the sleeve (small crease, price sticker) or disc (fingerprint, harmless scratch). VG+ (VERY GOOD PLUS) means a sleeve has minor shop wear - is creased and/or shows a ring impression, and the disc shows cosmetic signs of handling. VG means not for the anal-retentive. The sleeve shows multiple flaws (sticker tear, seam split, ring wear, rumpled top) and the disc has surface noise (no skips or thunderous pops) and multiple small scratches. VG- means the sleeve is "well loved" with numerous flaws while the vinyl is exhibits many flaws and is noisy.
