English avant-garde composer Cornelius Cardew’s (1936-81) work in seven parts is based on translations of Confucius by Ezra Pound. Paragraphs 2 & 7 are performed by the Scratch Orchestra. “The Great Learning” & “Treatise” are generally considered Cardew’s finest works and an important contribution to improvised/avant-garde performance.   An essential recording for anyone interested in electronic, experimental or improvised music. Record is in NEAR MINT condition & jacket is VG++ due to some light wear. This is the scarce UK pressing which is seldom offered, don’t miss it.
