I bought this record new in 1969-70. This is the original STRAIGHT RECORDS version, but with a twist. As stated in another auction, this is an extremely rare version. On the matrix, STS 1053 is crossed through, and 2MS-2027 has been added. According to the information I have discovered, this is about as rare a version you will ever find. It shouldn't exist! But it does. There is also a typo, with "Moonlight in Vermont" printed on the record itself, while the correct, "Moonlight on Vermont" is on the gatefold. I have taken pictures of all of this, and perhaps you can see it. The outer front cover has some expected light ring wear. The spine has minor condition issues, but nothing dramatic. The inside gatefold and back cover are in very fine condtion. The six-page lyric section is in excellent condition. The two sleeves, which are identical, are in pristine condition. One has a right corner slightly pushed back, but that is not due to wear, but to original packaging. The sleeves are as close to perfect as can be.( Anyone who bought records in those days knows that when you sometimes pulled out the sleeves, there might be a fold or two. ). See picture of this fold. The records have NOT torn out or broken through the bottom of the sleeves as is so common. The records themselves have no scratches that are visible on the surface. The album has been stored in a vaulted location, with 24 hr AC. There is no musty odor or any other condition issues. I have taken a picture of the spine. FYI - I was a musician in LA(still am), and had the pleasure of actually playing a project for Herb Cohen, the president of Straight/Bizarre in his office(same one mentioned on the sleeves) in late 1970 when I was 19 years old. It wasn't picked up but I'll never forget the experience of sitting across from him and talking up our music. He had a two track reel-to-reel. He told us to return in a year or so. At least he was positive! I am not 100% clear on condition ratings. Please view the pictures and let them do the talking. This deserves a good home with someone who is serious about owning it.
