"SAFE AS MILK" LP
BUDDHA BDS 5063 STEREO 1970 PROMO ISSUE
1970 Super rare US promo pressing for Radio DJs only. This album was issued to promote/boost sales of Beefheart's earlier work on the Buddha label when Trout Mask Replica was released in 1970. It has a large sticker on the front cover with ' A Radio Station Service from the Buddha Group' written on it, and then lists the songs with their timings, and some tips on which were the best tracks to play.
The LP itself has slightly different rills (gaps between the songs) than on other issues, the first few milliseconds of the first note of Abba Zaba are actually tacked onto the end of Yellow Brick Road - an oversight on the mix/cutting engineer's part.
Cover: Non-Gatefold matte paste-over sleeve in VG- condition - a little rubbed to the extremities, with ring-wear, and a slight seem split on the spine, although the text is all still legible.
Vinyl: Excellent. Sounds fantastic!
