Description

Welcome! Here is an early German press of Can Soundtracks (Liberty LBS 83 437). On this, the second Can album, the line-up was Irmin Schmidt, Jaki Liebezeit, Holger Czukay, Michael Karoli, and new vocalist Damo Suzuki. Two songs recorded with Malcolm Mooney on vocals are included.

Matrix numbers and mother/stamper codes are:

Side 1: C 83437 A-3 is stamped all in one string, with no further numbers anywhere. Made in Germany is stamped in as well.

Side 2: C 83437 B-1 is stamped all in one string, with no further numbers anywhere. Made in Germany is stamped in as well.

Using the Record Collector grading system, what do we have here?

Sleeve: The laminated sleeve grades Excellent+. There are a few VERY minor laminate wrinkles on the front, plus very minor general surface wear to both the front and back, mainly to the black and white portion of the back cover. Really quite nice overall, though! The edge where the record is inserted is razor sharp. The cover is printed by C.v.d. Linnepe, Lüdenscheid.

Vinyl: The vinyl grades Mint-. It looks and plays beautifully! Really, you could not possibly improve on this.

Labels: Both labels are absolutely pristine. There is NO spindle tracking at all on either label!

Inner Sleeve: This album has its original plain white inner sleeve, with angled top corners and a window on one side where the label peeps out. This inner is a bright white and absolutely pristine.

And, in the end: This is a terrific example of an early German press of Can Soundtracks. I bought this new in 1973 and have taken great care of it over the years. If you are in the market for more music by The Can, as they were known at the time, I have an early German press of Monster Movie currently on offer as well.

Returns:Full return privileges (less shipping and listing fee) if dissatisfied, but I bet you won’t be! E-mail me with any questions. Please pay by PayPal. Thanks and good luck!

About Me: I am not a dealer, but a longtime collector beginning the process of dispersing my collection of English and German prog, rock, and blues albums.

Shipping: I will ship to ANY country on Earth! Pursuant to my claim above that I am not a dealer, I am NOT out to gouge anyone on shipping costs. If you are in the USA, figure on $4.00 for good ‘ol Media Mail; of course, you can do Priority, Overnight, you name it. In those situation, as well as if you live outside of the USA, I will take your item(s), with the packaging, to the post office and I will obtain multiple shipping quotes for you (fast, slow, whatever).

Insurance: I will also get an insurance quote for you. I pack things very well, but if you choose to not buy insurance, I will not be responsible if something nasty happens. Historically, when given the option, I have not bought insurance myself, and I have never suffered any consequences. But this is your choice.

Namaste, everyone!
