As part of the sale of my precious LP collection.  Most were bought by me new at the time and have been stored upright in plastic outer covers.  Most were copied onto cassette and/or mp3 shortly after purchase so played rarely:

CAN - Ege Bamyasi - VERY RARE ORIGINAL LP. Kraut Rock classic. Perhaps the classic.

It has the features I checked out - overprint black strip on label edge and made in Germany on inner disc/plastic as well as label.

Purchased new by me around the mid-70s. 

The 'cut' on the inner lining (NOT THE DISC) indicates it was returned to distributors by shops and sold cheaply in the early 70s.  This makes it both more interesting and fun. I would say that. I paid the reduced price of 50p in c1974 (£10 now, ouch) which I dare not remove from the front. I bought it after seeing Can on 3rd March 1973 at Southsea pier before Ken Russell got to it and burned down the venue on the pier filming 'Tommy' in autumn '73.

The inner original sleeve is excellent and only very slightly faded/creased. It was 'cut off' on the inner sleeve only. The disc is excellent. Played only to copy to cassette (shortly after new purchase)and mp3 just before I obtained CD.

The disc looks and feels pretty new. I played it today to check the run-in and all tracks, etc, and there is minimal run-in crackling. No scratches and pops. Not professionally cleaned.

Great recording and original quality.

Ege Bamyas? is the fourth studio album by the German experimental rock band which was originally released in 1972 by United Artists. The album contains the single "Spoon", which charted in the Top 10 in (West) Germany, largely because of its use as the theme of a German TV thriller series called "Das Messer" (The Knife). The success of the single allowed Can to move to a better studio in which they recorded Ege Bamyas?.

The cover artwork, in addition to being a pun on the band's name (as it depicts a can labeled "CAN"), reflects several of the band members' continued interest in traditional music, "Ege Bamyas?" means "Aegean Okra" in Turkish. The album has received much critical acclaim since its release and has been cited as an influence by various artists. Several artists have played cover versions of songs from Ege Bamyas?. Remix versions of several tracks by various artists are included on the album Sacrilege.

[Added 06/02/2015] - On advice from a friend who trades I have removed all reference to 'near mint'.  It is a used excellent product (VG/EX inner sleeve owing to the 'cut' indicating a return). I have also added a new pic (the last one) with a close up of the marks near the price label.  This shows better the remains of a label (to the left of the 50p sticker).  There is no gash in the cover in response to a few qns. Cover has very slight 'bubbling' around a few edges where the lacquer has slightly raised itself but not cuts. I can also discern above the 50p sticker a written imprint of '£1.30' which I take to be the original sale price. Having looked again at the disc it is right to point out that there a few small marks/scratches visible. However, this does not detract from play and I stand by both the originality and condition as now described. I hope this had not inconvenienced anyone.
