A word about this record from a comment on discogs I thought was really informative:
"One of those tunes you find once or twice in your life...36 Top radio stations in the US organize The Budweiser Showdown, The Tournament Of Jams.10.000 musicians participate for the $1500 local Fender price and a shot at the Grand Price, $10.000 in Fender Equipment. On top of that, and maybe the most important price for the contestants, a Capitol Records recording contract with their winning tune. Every area had their own local winner, that would take a shot at the main price. Every local winner got their tune recorded on a 12 inch as price. And would go on to take a shot at the Grand Price. This record contained 2 winners in differend styles from a certain area, and on the label it says it was the winner fron MAJIC 102 FM. I looked up Majic 102 Fm on the net, and it seems to be a Houston radio Staion. So its safe to say AMP Crew won on the Houston area. They won in 1987, and they both got their tune recorded and pressed one time on this 12 inch. No more then 200 or 300 copies were pressed. Making this a real rare item. Its the Amp Crew tune that I like best, its a cool electro rap tune, and it suprised me a bit that such a tune would win the contest back then.
