When grading records we try to follow the descriptions listed below as closely as possible, + (plus) or - (minus) may be added to the grade when necessary.
SEALED
- Self explanatory.
- Regarding the cover:Perfect, there are no visible flaws noticeable, no nicks, marks or ringwear, like new, many times still in the opened shrinkwrap.
Regarding the vinyl: Perfect, there are no visible or audible flaws readily noticeable, no nicks, marks, wear or scratches, like new in every way even giving the appearence of not being played.
- The same as mint only appears to have been played one or two times.
- Regarding the cover: There may be very slight wear on the cover, no seam splits or damage to the spine if any ring wear is evident it is very minimal and any text photos or cover art are still bright and crisp.
Regarding the vinyl: it may have one or two very superficial scuffmarks but nothing noticeable to the touch, or that would effect the sound quality. Any flaws will be noted.
- Regarding the cover: The cover may have a small seam split, chipping to the spine bent or rubbed corners, ring wear or the colors and/or text is fading, basically showing signs of normal use. There could be names written, stickers or very slight signs of sticker removal (tears) to the cover or record label. Exceptions if any will be noted.
Regarding the vinyl: The record label may have some wear around the spindle hole and the shine to the vinyl could be fading or there may be a few light superficial scuffmarks but nothing noticeable to the touch, or anything that would effect the sound quality. Exceptions if any will be noted. Very Good is a grade that you're average well taken care of record would get, a record that has been enjoyed buy the owner cleaned periodically and kept in inner and outer sleeves away from all of the various environmental hazards of the world.
- * This is a grade which signifies that the record is on the verge of being a Frisbee and, except in an extremely rare situation would not be something we sell. In the event that such a rarity presents itself we will give a description of what a "Good" record might be like..
Regarding the cover: Cover shows, in addition to any faults listed above, excessive wear, has a large seam split or very damaged spine, there are tears from sticker removal.
Regarding the vinyl: Vinyl has in addition to any faults listed above, one or two long scratches or a few short scratches that can be felt and a significant amount of surface noise.
- *Pieces of cardboard and vinyl that fall into this category are not something to keep around the house let alone sell or purchase and should be immediately and without any hesitation either used as a frisby, donated to a charity organization, or recycled in some other way.
All of our Lp's are packed w/ lp outside of cover, always with a inner & outer sleeve, securely in a heavy duty currogated cardboard fold-over LP mailer.
