Description

A 1963 release of Brunswick SXA 4521 The Glory of Cremona with Ruggiero Ricci playing a variety of vintage violins accompanied by Leon Pommers on piano. I can't believe how brilliant the quality of the sound is given the apparent flaws in the vinyl but there are no feelable marks or skips or jumps. The quality just shines through. 

  • side one plays near perfectly with just the occasional static related tick but this would be hypercritical.  
  • side two nearly as good as side one with just a couple of possibly dust related ticks near the end.
  • outer sleeve has a crease in the laminate at the bottom left corner and a catalogue 'tag ' remnant while the insert has a minor crease bottom left but looks fine.
  • Overall grading visually VG at best but for sound quality side one Ex+ and side two Ex but close to Ex+. Sleeve VG
  • I play tested this record on a Rega Planar 3 using a brand new Ortofon 2M Blue Cartridge/Stylus and it works a treat.
Something of a miracle record this one so have confidence to bid.
