Description

Rainy Day Records USA  (established 1981)

ALWAYS COMBINES SHIPPING TO SAVE YOU MONEY AND WE ALWAYS SHIP WITH TRACKING. YOUR SATISFACTION IS OUR FIRST PRIORITY!

From Columbia Records (PC 33795), this is BORN TO RUN by

BRUCE SPRINGSTEENa beautiful original pressing recorded

May 1974 through July 1975, and released August 25, 1975. It is

a true first pressing in gatefold with Jon Landau's name misspelled

at bottom on back cover (see photos). No attempt to hide the error is

apparent, that is, no sticker has been used to cover it up; it has not

been blacked out. No bar code is shown. Printed original inner sleeve

(not pictured above) is present and in really nice condition. The jacket

is about EX or better; LP rates at least EX with only a whisper of

extraneous noise between some cuts and in quieter passages. Only

a whisper. Surface noise never overwhelms or distracts from the

music, the extraneous noise NEVER intrudes. Here we have a near perfect

listening copy that happens to be highly collectible because of the mistake

on back gatefold. Matrix confirms this to be one of the very first pressings

from the first mother. It is rare.

Because every engineer uses her (or his) own secret code, the matrix is

singularly unreliable when determining a first issue. In this case, however,

together with the error on the jacket, the stock number's prefix and other

clues, I think we can be assured this example is a true first.

NOTE: We play grade all unsealed copies of what we list. This item might

have light surface buffs or even a hairline or two but plays as described

above. Please don't simply glance at the playing surfaces;

PLAY THE DARNED THING

for this copy is a keeper and one you'll come back to again and again. Put

away your SEALED copy for posterity and keep this baby on your turntable.

YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

Wherever possible we house our vinyl in Mobile Fidelity Sound

Lab inner sleeves for the ultimate in protection; we use 6-mil

outer sleeves or polyester both being the finest protection

available for LP jackets.

These we offer FREE to all our customers!

When you buy from a small Mom & Pop business you are not

helping a CEO buy a third vacation home, a second yacht or

a four hundred million dollar golden parachute.  Instead, you’re

helping a little girl get dance lessons, a little boy get his team

jersey, a Mom put food on the table, a Dad pay a mortgage,

or a student pay for college. Our customers are our shareholders;

they are the ones we strive to make happy.

Thank you for supporting small businesses.

Thoughts for today:

That men do not learn very much from the lessons of history is the most

important of all the lessons of history.

As our eyes grow accustomed to sight they arm themselves against wonder.
