Artist: Roxy Music
Album reference: ‘Four Your Pleasure’ is the second Roxy Music album, with an original release date of 23rd March 1973, reaching number 4 in the UK Top 40 charts.
Item description: this is a stunning and super rare original promotional mirror and matching ashtray, featuring the outer gatefold sleeve artwork for the album release. The cover photo, taken by Karl Stoecker, featured Bryan Ferry's girlfriend at the time, singer and model Amanda Lear, who was also the confidante, protégée and closest friend of the surrealist artist Salvador Dalí. Lear was depicted posing in a skin-tight leather dress leading a black panther on a leash. The image has been described as "as famous as the album itself".
Dimensions: the framed mirror is estimated at 64cm width, 43cm height, and 2cm frame depth. The ashtray is approximately 16cm x 8xm x 1.5cm depth.
Condition: These rare promotional items are nearly fifty years old, and in very good condition. The large framed mirror has no breaks of cracks, and the varnished surrounding frame has a deep patina that suggest that this item has been on display for many years. Moderate wear and grubbiness to the outer (not visible one hung) rear of mirror. I have taken detailed pictures and please review in detail prior to placing any bids.
Weight: the combined weight of the picture and ashtray is 3kg, and packaged with super protective bubble wrap and card and total packaged weight will be 6kg.
Transit size: outer transit box will be 78cm x 70cm x 15cm
Shipping: due to the items being fragile glass I will only entertain using UPS for any international shipping, and for me they have by far the best track record of getting fragile items delivered without breakage! Please don’t ask me to use a cheaper, less effective service…. I have learnt the hard way believe me!
