Description

Rare, original mono pressing of Bobby Hutcherson "Stick-Up" on the blue and white Liberty labels of Blue Note BLP 4244. The playing surface is in near-new condition - bright and clean - with a high luster; perhaps played once or twice. At this point in Blue Note's history, only stereo sessions were being issued. It is not known why they felt it necessary to accommodate broadcasters with mono pressings, which were only made available to the media and not sold to the public. Blue Note did not press mono covers; they simply attached a sticker to the top of the stereo cover (see scan). This cover is clean throughout, with sharp corners; 1" wear to bottom seam, at the opening. Personnel includes Joe Henderson, McCoy Tyner, and Billy Higgins.
