Condensed from the back cover from Bobby Atkins: "It was the summer of '68 when I first met Tony Rice and Frank Poindexter. One evening two young boys walked in, Frank 21, and Tony 18. I saw right off they were two of the finest musicians in the country. Part of the time Tony would stay at my house and part at his Grandma and Grandpa's house which is Frank's Mama and Daddy. Then we started writing songs and recording. Even at 18 years of age I think Tony was the best flat top guitar picker around, even then. On this album you will hear the 15 songs and tunes we recorded while we were together during approximately 8 months (1968). It's since then Tony has really gone to the top on his own. I sincerely hope you enjoy the singing and playing on this album."
As we all know - the rest was history. What a man! What a musician! The late, great Tony Rice.
