Description

This is a really nice UK original first mono pressing copy of the 'Highway 61 Revisited' LP

CBS BPG 62572

Rought textured CBS labels. A1 / B1 matrix numbers

Laminated (to front) flipback G&L sleeve in totally fantastic genuine as-close-to- mint-as-you-will-ever-see conditon! A very, very near perfect, original sleeve!

Also... this sleeve is really wierd! This has been bugging me for years. I have another UK original 1st mono 'Highway' LP (also listed in this batch of items). Although the records are identical for each copy, the two sleeves are very different.

Both are UK sleeves. Both are laminated to the front with flipback construction. The other one (up next...) is the one you 'usually' see. This one, however, has a very different layout in that: the words 'Produced by Tom Wilson' have been inserted after 'Like A Rolling Stone' in the track listing at the top of the sleeve; The band who played on the album (and what they played) are listed to the right of the track listing at the top of the sleeve; The sleeve notes are headed 'Notes by Bob Dylan'; the words 'Produced by Bob Johnson' have been inserted above the sleeve notes; the words '(c) Bob Dylan 1965' have been inserted after the sleeve notes; A box has been placed around the 'selections and their timings' information at the bottom of the sleeve; the cover photographer (Daniel Kramer) has been credited at the bottom of the sleeve.

I don't know whether all this 'matters' at all. It just seems rather odd. Which is the 'right' sleeve, this one or the other one without all of these extra bits? Which design came first and why was it changed?

I really must get out more...

So... the record labels are perfect except for a few light spindle marks.

The record itself is properly graded as excellent -plus - Really great with just a few light surface scratches. Plays superbly and you may never find a better original copy.
