Description
ORIGINAL BLUE NOTE VINYL!
Seldom seen in UK auctions is an early Stereo pressing of Blue Mitchell's Boss Horn (Blue Note BST 84257) released during Blue Note's Liberty era, with Blue playing wonderful arrangements by Duke Pearson as part of a forward-thinking octet, including a young Chick Corea who contributes two amazing compositions as well as piano! I have fully play-tested the vinyl, so my grading is based on how the record actually sounds, as well as how it looks.
Vinyl is mostly Excellent, playing with limited occasional crackle between tracks, and virtually no detectable noise during the music itself with the exception of 5-10 rotational clicks at the end of track 2 side 2 linked to a couple of tiny marks in the vinyl, which brings the grading of side 2 down to Very Good+. Labels are Blue Note Liberty, indicating a Liberty-era Stereo pressing. The label on side 1 has a small rip & ripple (not affecting any of the text - see photos); side 2's label is in excellent condition.
Original cover is graded strong Very Good+, due to light ringwear. It is structurally sound with no splits & fully intact spine, and still retains its whiteness despite the passing of the years!

Note that I separate the vinyl from the outer sleeve for postage to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me, and in the way I'd like to receive them.
All items are play-tested throughout, and I strive to be comprehensive and fair in grading descriptions. If you require any further information, including photos, then let me know and I'll do my best to help.
