Description

Joe Marcinkiewicz and Blu -
JAM SESSION -
M&K Realtime Direct-to-Disc 45RPM RT-10014 -
TOTALLY STUNNING!

This is the Real Time, direct-to-disc recording, mastered at 45 RPM, of Joe Marcinkiewicz's group "Blu," in a jam session.  (The dynamic range and fidelity to the instruments, I must tell you, is stunning.)

Selections include DON'T DRIVE ME CRAZY, CRY, GET DOWN MAMA, THUMPING SOME FUNK, and THE COLOR IS BLUE, played by Joe Marcinkiewicz on trumpet and flugelhorn.

In addition, there's Jim Richardson on alto and tenor sax and flute; Larry Klein and Dave Crigger on drums; Mike Turner on congas; Dave Siebels and Bob Chadwick on keyboards; Jim Campbell on Fender Bass; and Andrea Robinson and Peter S. DeBear on vocals.

There's lots to get into here, but, in particular, I am a real fan of Campbell's Fender Bass.  It has the kind of bloom that pushes air across the floor, and every reason why M&K, maker of sub-woofers, was there to record it.

A great album of some fine jazz, recorded magnificently and worthy of any audiophile's library.

Jacket has some shelf wear (nothing serious); inside, is a record with mere paper scuffs, plays near mint.

For other fine records, TAS picks and hard-to-finds, please see my complete list of offerings here on eBay.

Shipping and handling is $5 for up to 5 LPs shipped within the States. Internationally, $15 via airmail for the first LP, $3 each thereafter. (Canada is half that.) Boxes over 4 lbs., add another $6, because First Class is no longer available at that weight, just Priority Mail. Note, too, boxed sets of LPs require more postage.
