Description
Original extremely rare Paramount 78 issued in 1927, featuring the incomparable Blind Blake performing 'He's In The Jailhouse Now' on Side A and the absolutely incredible 'Southern Rag' on Side B.
I've had this for a number of years hung on the wall in a box frame .. I have never attempted to play it, the recordings are readily available and like people doing stunts in old Spitfires and crashing them, it seems a travesty in my opinion to play them and wear them out further .. so I am not going to attempt to grade it as collectors do... .
Needless to say, as a 92 year old record this is not pristine (!) ... the pictures were taken in good light and represent it faithfully.
When bought it was mounted in a box frame, I discarded this after a period with the intention of replacing the frame but never got round to it.. when I removed the record there were some faint patches of residue from the sticky-backed patches that had held it in place. These are visible on the photo...
For a fan of pre-war blues it was amazing to have this on the wall along with some others ( see my other auctions ).
These pre-war Paramounts are extremely rare, fragile and important historically so am not willing to risk posting it, so personal colleciton only although I would be happy to travel to cut down on anybody's travel time by meeting part way - within reasonable distance ( 75 miles )
I would prefer cash on collection or bank transfer rather PayPal if possible...
