Rare, Original, DIY Punk Single - only 250 pressed

'Beyond The Implode' was a late 1970's - early 1980's punk group from Runcorn (near Liverpool). '11th Hour Breakdown' was the second of our singles, recorded at the Open Eye studios in Liverpool, in February 1980. Only 250 were made - but over half of them were apparently destroyed.

The record for sale is in its original cover (designed by me), which shows some discolouration due to age (it's 34 years old now). The inner sleeve is also discoloured due to age. The singles were sold through 'Rough Trade' records in London and through the iconic Probe Records in Matthew Street, Liverpool. At the time of its release, it was reviewed by several music papers of that time and was played by the late John Peel on his BBC radio show.

I was the synthesiser player on this record but I am selling this rare single on behalf of another band member, Keith O'Connell (Keith Discreet), who played bass guitar on the record. The first 'Beyond The Implode' single, 'Last Thoughts' has been listed separately.

The '11th Hour Breakdown' record for sale is 100% authentic and original - it is NOT a copy.

There are not many of these original records in existence now so this is an extremely rare opportunity to purchase an item of original DIY punk from that exciting and ground-breaking music era. Any creditable music collector will confirm the current market value of these original Beyond The Implode recordings, due to their rarity and the infrequency that they come up for sale (if ever).

The record for sale is in excellent condition. The master etching marks on the vinyl state "DIVE+102+A" on the A-side and "DIVE+102+B" on the B-side. The centre of the record (white) on the A-side is hand-stamped in red with 'DIVERSE 80' and '1', then stamped in black with 'BEYOND THE IMPLODE' and '11th HOUR BREAKDOWN'. It is stamped the same on the B-side but without the '1'.

The record's inner cover is plain white but obviously a little discoloured due to its age, as with the outer sleeve.

This record is not autographed at all. The band members were: Eddie Smith (Eddie Cameron), vocalist and co-founder of the group, who sadly passed away in December 2013; Ian Gardler, guitar; Nick Evans, percussion; Kevin Shields (me), synthesiser; and Keith Discreet (Keith O'Connell), bass guitar. We all co-wrote the songs on this record.
