With it's 3/3 matrices, this is a true first issue, displaying 1/1 mothers and single letter stampers, from the first day run. This disc has a factory sample sticker applied to the side 2 label. The vinyl is in outstanding condition, producing a near flawless performance from all 14 tracks. Initial 3/3 copies were very quickly superseded by 3/4 and 4/4 discs, so quickly that they too are listed as first pressing *
The Vinyl
Visually: Both sides have retained most of their deep gloss lustre - no groove dulling or whitening - side 1 appears unmarked in normal light, with just wispy hairlines under a halogen lamp - side 2 has a few, light, non sounding surface marks (nothing much)
Audio: Near flawless - all tracks play with total clarity and no deterioration in sound quality - there are no clicks, pops, skips or stalls - a touch of peak wear on the louder tracks - run ins are almost silent - a little surface noise on the run in, opening track, side 2 but not on the song - fabulous example

The Labels
Beautifully clean, with pristine vibrant lettering - a few dark patches on side 2 - KT tax code embossed - 'Factory Sample' sticker, side 2, which has been rubbed and picked at, in an attempt at removal but is still very much intact (see close up photo)

The Cover
Genuine first issue, with richest colour toning to the laminated front and back panels - reasonably good condition, just fairly tired all over but no serious problems or damage - as a first print, the box containing care information is missing from the top corner of the inside panel

The Inner Sleeve
Correct, rice paper lined, Emitex - rare 'Made In England' (without 'Patents Applied For') - totally intact - age toning
