The Beatles - Beatles for Sale "Not For Sale" Parlophone "White Label" Stereo test pressing from 1964.
Extraordinary rare and only one of one known!!
The early 63/4/5 Stereo Test presses are a lot rarer than the mono test presses as were an after thought.
Plays the tracks from side 1 without skips, jumps or repeats with just a bit of occasional low background noise or static. This has the 1G mother.
It has a test tone on side 2 with LPFB 2 stamped on the run off groove.
Side 1 had a label glued very loosely on side 1 but has come away (as the glue has dried out) to show the Test label underneath. Side 2 still has the (or another) side 1 track listing label still attached.
Genuine and very very sort after.
A brief history of sales of genuine Parlophone Test presses of Beatles LP's are indeed very brief.
Any one that collect these will tell you most if not all early test presses are usually Mono. There was a single VG+ mono Please Please me going for/went for £5K a few years ago now. A Mono set of the same went for £8300 and that was more than a few years ago too!.
A Hard days night mono test press side 1 went for £3500 getting to be nearly 10 years ago, with another AHDN mono set being sold by Morethnmusic for £5000 in May 2017, and a mono Beatles for Sale just sold for over £5,000 just a couple or so years ago. A 1 sided With the Beatles test press was on the Tracks website for £7,500 two or three years ago, and there is a With the beatles mono side 1 selling at £6000 on another selling platform at the moment.. Unfortunately because of eBay guidelines, I cannot post links to these but if you drop me a message I can.
These go for serious money. Why?, because they are unique and there are usually only just one or two of each. Not like the 250 Love Me Do demo's, which now go for £12K+ each!.
This is the ONLY one of this left!. It doesn't get much rarer or earlier than that.
There is no Sleeve as the sleeve wasn't even made yet!!
