Description
Up for consideration please find the RARE - ST2553 RIAA #4 Beatles - Yesterday and Today - In Wrap. This is from the Jacksonville, ILL plant which purportedly used heavier glue base in placing the trunk slick on the cover. The album is in VG+ shape both cover and vinyl (vinyl has minute surface marks). The wrap is still on and one photo shows one of the punch holes in the wrap. The corners show a bit of edging, the album does not have the advertising inside sleeve, but a plain sleeve. Per the top edge of the trunk paste-on and the bottom dark edges you can see it covers very thickly The Dead Wax Matrix reads:
Side 1: ST1 -2553 - B8 Side 2: ST2-2553 - B8 #2
The bottom right of the wrap has peeled back about 3" on the front and torn up about 4" on the back .
I was told that this is not a butcher cover version. I have still been tempted to steam it back since it has all the characteristics. But the back of the cover does not have "This Stereo Record " statement under the "New Improved Full Dimensional Stereo" information on the top of the back cover. According to Perry Cox's Beatles price guide this means this cover was made from 1967 on.
This is the Stereo version from the plant and is a rare find in this condition.
