Parlophone GEP 8948 – 1970s Pressing

Yesterday, the EP, was released on March 4, 1966. All four of the tracks also appeared on the UK Help! album. The EP was released in mono only, and the cover photograph was taken by Robert Whitaker. Unusually for 1966, each Beatle took lead vocals on a song. The EP's release happened to coincide with the first publication of John Lennon's comments that The Beatles were "more popular than Jesus Christ".

Yesterday entered the UK EP chart on March 12, 1966, and from March 26 spent six weeks at Number One. In all it remained on the hit parade for 13 weeks.

This auction is for Parlophone Extended Play 45 Yesterday. This version has what is known as the “70s Label”, issued from 1969 to 1976. The Record and Cover are in Near Mint condition.
