This respectable early copy is a 1968 UK 1st STEREO pressing on the dark green Apple label: PCS 7067 & PCS 7068

Both labels of disc 1 omit the 'An EMI Recording' text, but it appear on both labels of disc 2.

Labels 1 & 3 bear genuine EMI red & white 'Factory Sample - Not For Sale' stickers.

The familiar 'Sold in UK..' statement is present across the centre of all four label.

The 'KT' purchase tax code is visible in the centre of the labels 2 & 4.

Matrix numbers: YEX 709-1, YEX 710-1 & YEX 711-1, YEX 712-2

Stamper codes: 6/MO, 1/GM & 5/GAP, 1/GGA

Vinyl weight: 133g & 149g

The discs are housed within a heavy card stock, fully-laminated top-loading 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed stereo cover numbered: No.0322620

The package is complete with its original 4 colour portrait photos, UK printed matt poster & both black die-cut inner-sleeves.

Labels: EXCELLENT +

All are perfectly clean & unworn with just a very small number of barely visible spindle trails around each completely unworn centre hole.

Visual: Disc 1: VERY GOOD Disc 2: EXCELLENT

Clean, bright & glossy playing surfaces which display some light surfaces marks consistent with turntable contact and play, but nothing deep or heavy. The only significant blemish is a 1cm hairline on the final track on side 1 which is just feelable beneath my fingertips. Disc 2 has less surface marking with just some harmless light hairlines and inner sleeve removal marks beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp.

Play: Disc 1: VERY GOOD + Disc 2: EXCELLENT

This set has received minimal play and the entire set is without any significant deterioration to the sound or any major faults. Disc 1 plays extremely well without any groove/play wear distortion on any track. Its only audible blemishes are some light clicks towards the end of 'Happiness Is A Warm Gun' and a touch of light background on the quieter passages of side 2. Disc 2 has received less play and again is free form any groove/play wear or nay significant background interference, clicks, pops etc., and is therefore graded slightly higher.

EXCELLENT -

Like its mono cousin I have on offer this week, this is a very respectable clean, bright & strong example displaying minimal handling & storagewear. The clean & glossy laminate is fully intact over the raised wording and the number is clean & bold. All corners are intact with minor bruising to their tips but all top-opening edges are undamaged. The inside of the gatefold is clean & glossy and the rear panel is as clean as the front and with its small 'stereo' logo standing bold & unworn. There is some flaking of the spine's laminate but all the wording is readable and all seams of both pockets are smooth, unstressed and unsplit.
