Description

Beatles, White Album, Number 0202706, Apple PMC 7067/8 (Mono), Made in the UK 1968.

Complete 1st Press Mono Limited edition (Rarer than the Stereo). Gatefold cover has wide spine and is top loading without “Stereo” on back. Labels are deep green with “Sold in UK subject to…” and small circled P next to 1968.

Matrix numbers are: XEX 709-1 and Stamping codes 5 (on the left) and TO (on the right) for Side 1, XEX 710-1 and Stamping codes 5 (on the left) and GGG (on the right) for Side 2, XEX 711-1 and Stamping codes 2 (on the left) and P (on the right) for Side 3, XEX 712-1 and Stamping codes 6 (on the left) and MR (on the left) for Side 4.

Included are the original Apple black inners, colour poster (original with lipstick kiss) and 4 colour prints of the Beatles (original with slightly rugged back), unfortunately does not contain very rare white print spacers.

Please note my grading system (I do not use EX as a condition): M (Mint, Pristine), M- (Very light use, hardly any wear), VG++ (Used but no serious wear), VG+ (Used and has signs of wear), VG (Used and fairly worn), VG- (Used and worn), G (bad condition).

Condition of gatefold cover is VG++ (please check photos). Throughout lamination is still shiny and reflective. Has retained its whiteness, no discolouration apart from light discolouring on very top edge. Light ring wear, light bent line on front left hand side and light peeling on right hand side edge. Corners are in great condition with right side only slightly rubbed, bottom left corner has minimal rub, top right hand corner is worse of the four with rub and small 1/2 cm peel. Spine is in great condition, no peeling or split until the top. The interior of gatefold is in beautiful condition. Apart from a few light defects, the cover is in great shape considering its age, no real problems whatsoever.

Condition of records are: side 1 is in VG++, has retained all of its shine, there are a few hairline marks which do not really affect play. I have play tested it and there are absolutely no skips, jumps or pops. Only slight surface noise here and there but generally plays beautifully. Side 2 is VG+/VG++, has retained all of its shine, a few hairline marks apart from light surface noise plays great. Side 3 is VG++, once again beautifully shiny and a few hairline marks, plays great. Side 4 is VG++, possibly the best of the 4. No jumps, skips or pops. All in all, the two records have been treated with care; light marks here and there but no deep scratches or across the groove marks. Play great.

Condition of original black inner sleeves are in VG+. Probably in the worst condition of all the different elements, they have retained their darkness and shine but have a 2/3 tears around circular middle holes.

Condition of original 4 prints are in M-. Definitely in the best condition of all the different elements. They have retained all their colour definition and shine, in beautiful pristine condition.

Condition of original colour poster is in VG++, there are no tears or splits to mention but it has light fold marks from handling and few small stains by writing but photo side is in great condition.

All in all, this is a trully great VG++ copy of this complete original Mono UK pressing numbered to 0202706. Would make a beautiful Christmas present! Please check photos carefully and comment of my last White Album sale, thanks for your interest.
